Tiger Ted Cafe sits just a stone’s throw from Maya Mall in Chang Phueak, serving up solid coffee and simple bites with a local flavor. The cafe occupies a distinctive space inside converted shipping containers, giving it a compact but clever layout that includes a mezzanine level often described as a “treehouse.” This upstairs spot offers a surprising sense of calm and separation from the bustle of the nearby main road, making it a favored weekday morning retreat for laptop workers and locals looking to settle in with a cup of coffee.

Locally, Tiger Ted appeals to those who want decent quality coffee without the fuss or high prices common in more tourist-heavy parts of town. With drinks roughly around 55 baht for a latte, and Thai tea options that get noticed by regulars, the cafe strikes a practical balance—it’s a place where you can grab a flavorful cup and a ham & cheese sandwich or a simple Thai omelet rice dish without burning through your wallet.

The vibe is casual but lively during the day, especially around midday when crowds trickle in from the nearby shopping mall. There’s a mix of indoor air-conditioned seating and outdoor areas, accommodating both those wanting to avoid Chiang Mai’s warmer moments and visitors who prefer the open air. The sound environment is a bit of a trade-off: being next to a busy road means some ambient noise, so headphones are useful if you’re hoping for quieter focus or conversation. The cafe’s playlist can be on the louder side, which might affect those wanting a low-key atmosphere.

For locals or travelers focused on remote work, Tiger Ted scores with reliable WiFi and plenty of power outlets, especially upstairs. The friendly staff tend to create a welcoming atmosphere, making it easy to settle in for a few hours. Beyond work sessions, it’s also well suited for quick coffee and light meals before or after shopping runs at Maya or nearby spots.

Overall, Tiger Ted Cafe is best for those who appreciate practical, well-priced coffee in a distinctly urban Chiang Mai setting, with a creative container design and a casual, somewhat eclectic charm. Early mornings and quieter weekdays provide the best window for a laid-back experience here, whether you’re working, catching up with friends, or just in need of a straightforward caffeine fix near a busy shopping hub.

Had the Thai tea and a ham & cheese sandwich — both were delicious . The prices are very reasonable , and it’s conveniently located right next to Maya Mall.

Really cool place to work there’s a mezzanine tree house floor! Coffee is good value at 55 baht for a latte and the premise is built inside a shopping container. The only downside is that it’s right next to the main road so stick in your headphones to reduce the road noise. Staff are very friendly and the WiFi is solid, there’s lots of power point upstairs inside the container. #BeatTheGrind

A very convenient cafe. Opens early (7:00) & next to Maya shopping centre.(10:00) I am impressed with the versatility of coffee strength. Decent seats. The music is the only problem they play it too loud to have a conversation or have a quiet time.

This is one of the best cafes behind the giant mall. I'm telling you if you want a better tasting coffee with delicious pastry. The price is amazing. With parking. You have outdoor and indoor seating with aircon. It's better than trying to fight for parking. This is too easy. Pay half the price for your latte and pastries. Also, it's set up for your social media The service was amazing, and the coffee was delicious They warmed up the banana bread.

Excellent Coffee and a surprising sense of isolation even though it’s right next to Maya. I love working here on my computer in the mornings when the crowd is low. By mid-day though, this place can fill up fast. Love the shipping containers and the giant tree. It really feels like a treehouse upstairs. I’ve even been visited by squirrels once or twice. Prices are good and the ambiance is great. I just wish it wasn’t so close to the road and the airplane path.

Opposite my hotel. Ate fried rice and Pad Thai. It was delicious and the fried rice had a mild taste of wok hei (charred) which is great. The lattee and Thai tea is good. The boss is very accommodating and speaks good English. I would recommend you the come if you're around Maya shopping mall and need a rest n drinks.

Ice lattes are not my first choice order. But on this hot and sunny day I went for one. This is one very decent ice latte. The body of the espresso itself should be quite heavy, resulting in an overall pleasing texture. Strong tasting notes that does not let the mill dilute it. If the ice latte is good, I figure the other coffees gotta be good.

Had breakfast and lunch here multiple times, we just kept coming back! Best matcha I have ever had, but their coffee(machine) is just as impressive. Food is great also, thai omelet and thai basil stir fry where my favorite. Staff is super friendly. Overall, 10/10 would recommend!
